Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do you even sport outdoors in the tropics?
That’s a matter of mindset and adaptation. Endurance sports in the tropics are not easy, but if you really want to, you can manage and even enjoy it. Start very early, adapt your pace and hydrate enough.
3. Have you ever felt unsafe while running in Bali?
No never, crime rates are very low in Indonesia and there are actually always people on the street. No matter what time you go out.
2. How to avoid traffic on Bali?
You have to start very early to avoid heavy traffic in Indonesia. Think between 5 and 7am. Besides that, try to avoid the main roads, especially for running. Look up your routes beforehand, to make sure it doesn’t include busy roads.
4. How do you cope with the hills?
I try to find routes with limited hills, and if there are hills, I focus on my form and quick forefoot steps to get up there easily. After the hill I will go easy to get my heart rate down again.
